Sky Sport goes the distance with Netball New Zealand

  • Sky Sport adds to broadcast rights with sponsorship at all levels of netball
  • Netball is a sport for all ages and levels and Sky Sport is there for every key moment

As we head into International Women’s Day on March 8, Sky Sport is delighted to announce a long-term sponsorship of Netball New Zealand, enabling ongoing growth at all levels of the Netball code beloved by Kiwis young and old.

“Netball is a marquee sport for New Zealanders – the Silver Ferns inspire us year in and year out as they take on their foes in Australia, England, the Caribbean and beyond, likewise, with Netball’s Elite domestic league the ANZ Premiership, which launches this week.

Coaches like Dame Noeline Taurua and players like Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Laura Langman and Sky’s very own Bailey Mes, motivate all players and even the littlest futureFERNS to do their best.  The players who take to their local courts to battle it out week after week for their schools and clubs who are the true heroes of the community game,” says Tex Teixeira, Sky Chief Content Officer.

“As the Home of Sport in New Zealand, Sky is committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the game.  A healthy game means healthy communities, exciting content and highly engaged fans, players and supporters."

Netball New Zealand CEO Jennie Wyllie says, “Sky Sport has long been an advocate for women’s sport in Aotearoa, and netball in particular.  We’re delighted they have extended their partnership to help us sustain and nurture the game we love.

“Sky Sport will be proudly presented at all Silver Ferns home games, while awareness of the ANZ Premiership competition receives an exciting boost with the energy-filled promotional ‘So Bold’ campaign – developed and executed by Sky. Team members will also showcase the logo on their match day dresses.  That’s a symbol of a deep relationship with Sky, the Home of Sport in New Zealand.”

The agreement with Sky Sport and Netball New Zealand will be evident at every level:
Silver Ferns, ANZ Premiership, Beko Netball League, Mother Earth futureFERNS, Fuji Xerox NZ Secondary Schools Tournament (October), U18 Netball Champs (Outdoor), Open Champs in partnership with the NZ Police (September) and other selected events.
